Position in EPA Region 9 Office

I recently received this position announcement from a colleague at the EPA.

US EPA Region 9 is accepting applications for an open position in the Waste Division Permitting Office. This office leads hazardous waste permitting and corrective action cleanups to ensure adequate protection of human health and the environment. The successful applicant will serve as a project manager who will have the responsibility to develop permits for industrial facilities; work directly with the public to involve communities in the permitting and cleanup process; work with state governments on their permitting activities; and oversee corrective action cleanups on contaminated lands.

Salary: $56,172.00 to $88,349.00

Qualifications: GS-09 –You need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as experience working in at least one environmental program (e.g. water, air, waste, toxic etc,) in an environmental field (e.g. inspection, enforcement, permits, etc) and experience participating in work groups, committees, or teams related to environmental science issues or projects; - OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in the engineering or science field.

GS-11 – You need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as experience in overseeing workplan development and overall project management; and experience preparing summaries of complex technical regulatory, or scientific material related to an environmental
program or addressing environmental justices issues or projects; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in the academic discipline.
