Prof. Carl Cranor, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and ETOX faculty member, recently received the Ramazzini Award during the annual Ramazzini Days conference in Carpi, Italy. The Ramazzini Award is conferred by the Collegium Ramazzini and the Mayor of Carpi on a scientist deemed by the Collegium to have made outstanding contributions to furthering the aims of Bernardino Ramazzini, the father of occupational medicine, in safeguarding public health. As stated in the award announcement, Carl Cranor's work at the 'intersection of science, policy, and law has strengthened the bridge between scientific findings and the social and political institutions that use them to protect public health—a central aim of the Collegium Ramazzini." The Collegium Ramazzini is an independent scientific organization comprised of 180 internationally renowned experts in the fields of occupational and environmental health. Our congratulations to Carl for this honor and recognition.
