Environmental Scientist Position at California Water Resources Control Board

Scott Coffin, a recent ETOX graduate, passed on the following position announcement.   The position  appears to be in Sacramento, California.

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality, Sustainable Water Plans and Policies Section has an opening for a permanent full-time Environmental Scientist to join a dynamic team in the Recycled Water, Desalination, and Constituents of Emerging Concern (CECs) Unit. We are seeking a talented scientist with strong critical thinking skills to assist the team in protecting water quality consistent with the State Water Board’s direction and mission.

Cell Article by ETOX Alumna Shuo Liu


ETOX alumna Shuo Liu (photo above) who graduated in 2015 from Yinsheng Wang's lab, has a new 1st author publication in the prestigious journal Cell.  Her research shows that cancers with Ras mutations increase protein synthesis by increasing the GTPase activity of a translation elongation factor through a mechanism involving eEF1A demethylation.  A graphic illustration of her research is below.  The article can be accessed here.  Our congratulations to Shuo for this nice recognition of her research.
