Sabbir Ahmed wins Audience Choice Award at UCR's Grad Slam competition

ETOX student Sabbir Ahmed recently competed against more than 50 UCR graduate students in the Grad Slam Competition.  The Grad Slam is a UC-sponsored speaking competition in which a student is given 3 minutes to explain his or her research to a general audience.  Sabbir's presentation was entitled, "Traffic-related Particulate Matter: A Tiny Player Plays Big on Disease Progression".  He was among the 8 finalists and was selected for the Audience Choice Award.  He is shown above holding the ribbon with Emma Wilson, Associate Dean of the Graduate Division.  More about the event can be found at the Grad Division's Grad Slam website including a link to the Sabbir's presentation.  Our congratulations to Sabbir for this award and recognition.
