Frances Sladek's HNF4 work published in PNAS

In work recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Frances Sladek, an ETOX faculty, and her postdoctoral fellow, Karthi Chellappa have recently shown that colon cancer patients exhibit a high frequency of variants in HNF4A.  Their work also suggests that loss of the HNF4Aa protein from the nucleus in colon cells could be useful early biomarker of colon cancer.  An article in UCR Today on their work (as well as the original of the photo above) can be found here.  Our congratulations to Frances and Karthi for this nice research accomplishment.
