Omaiye and Talbot Research Published in Chemical Research in Toxicology and Featured in UCR Today
The research of Ester Omaiye, Prof. Prue Tabot and their collaborators has been featured in a recent news release in UCR News. In the related article published in Chemical Research in Toxicology, Ester and her colleagues showed that Juul electronic cigarette fluids contained high levels of nicotine which correlated with their cytotoxic effects in human bronchial epithelial cells in culture. We congratulate Ester and Dr. Talbot for this recognition of their work.

Vliet and Fernandez receive Science to Policy certificate
UCR has initiated a Science to Policy certificate program to train graduate students to better explain their research to the public and to prepare them to advise those who make policy. Sara Vliet and Seth Fernandez, two ETOX students, took the class during Winter quarter 2019, and received certificates in a ceremony that took place last night. Kudos to Sara and Seth for their willingness to develop skills in this area. Below are photos that I took of the students and the event. I have also included photos of book marks/bumper stickers that each made describing their work.
