Happy Memorial Day

Each Memorial Day thousands of motorcyclists ride from central Riverside to the Riverside National Cemetery to honor those who died serving our country in the military.  This is the west coast version of "Rolling Thunder" which also takes place on Memorial Day in Washington DC.  Below are some pictures from this year's event that, unusually, took place on a cool overcast morning.

Carl Cranor selected for Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award

In its May 19 meeting, Carl Cranor, professor of Philosophy and member of the Environmental Toxicology Graduate Program faculty, was selected by the UCR Academic Senate to receive the its Distinguished Teaching Award - the top teaching award given to UC Riverside faculty.  Our congratulations to Carl for this nice recognition. 

Kang'ethe visit to UCR

ETOX alumnus Dr. Wanyoike Kang'ethe is on vacation with his family in California and stopped by UCR to visit. He and his family are doing well.  He works in the Washington, DC area assisting small companies prepare data packages for submission to the FDA.  It was great to see him.  Above is a photo of him outside of the Biological Sciences Building.
