Schlenk quoted on NPR

Dan Schlenk, ETOX faculty member and professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, was quoted on National Public Radio in an article on behavioral effects of small amounts of drugs in the environment.  It also briefly describes some of his work in this area.  A link to the article and audio clip can be found here

Cranor's work highlighted by UCR


Carl Cranor, distinguished professor of Philosophy and ETOX faculty member, is profiled on the UCR Living the Promise website.  On the site, Carl describes his research and his ongoing interests in public health.  There is also a short video in which Carl Cranor gives a tour of his house and illustrated various household products and describes the associated chemicals of concern.  The website and the video can be found here.  Again, our congratulations to Carl for this recognition of his work. 

Curras-Collazo wins APS teaching award

Maggie Curras-Collazo, an ETOX faculty member and associate professor of Cell Biology & Neuroscience, was selected by the American Physiology Society to receive the 2013 ADInstruments Macknght Progressive Educator Award for her dedication to the teaching of undergraduate students.  The APS Education Committee indicated that it was impressed with a course that Dr. Curras-Collazo developed entitled Educational Training in Neuroscience Outreach which trains neuroscience majors at UCR with teaching skills that they use to educate members of the public.  Our congratulations to Maggie for this nice recognition.  More information can be found at the InsideUCR website.
